IndexGPT is a Chrome extension that helps users index, search, navigate, follow, and export messages within ChatGPT conversations.
To provide its features, IndexGPT accesses and processes the content of the active ChatGPT conversation, including user and assistant messages, the conversation URL or identifier, and related page content.
IndexGPT also uses the user's existing authenticated ChatGPT browser session to request the active conversation directly from ChatGPT. Authentication information is used only for this purpose and is not sent to or stored on servers operated by the IndexGPT developer.
Conversation data is used only to provide IndexGPT's user-facing features, including full-conversation indexing, message search, navigation to messages, Follow behavior during generation, and transcript export.
IndexGPT may temporarily cache conversation indexes in browser session storage to improve loading speed and keep the index current. This temporary cache is intended to be cleared when the browser session ends.
IndexGPT does not transmit conversation content or authentication information to servers operated by the IndexGPT developer.
IndexGPT does not sell user data, use user data for advertising, create advertising profiles, or share user data with data brokers or unrelated third parties.
The IndexGPT developer does not have access to or review users' ChatGPT conversations. Network requests made by the extension are sent directly between the user's browser and ChatGPT as necessary to provide the extension's features.
Transcript files are created locally only when the user selects the export function. The exported file is saved through the user's browser. IndexGPT does not receive or retain a copy of the exported transcript.
IndexGPT does not maintain a developer-controlled database of user conversations or authentication information. Temporary browser-session caches are used only to support extension functionality and are not transmitted to the developer.
IndexGPT operates on ChatGPT and communicates directly with ChatGPT to retrieve the user's active conversation. ChatGPT and OpenAI process information under their own terms and privacy policies. IndexGPT does not transfer user data to any other third-party service.
IndexGPT's use of user data complies with the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. User data is used only to provide or improve the extension's disclosed, user-facing functionality.
This policy may be updated if IndexGPT's features or data practices change. The effective date at the top of this page will be updated when changes are made.
Questions about this privacy policy may be submitted through the support contact listed on the IndexGPT Chrome Web Store page.
